Glazed Wine Bundt Cake
Rich, moist, and infused with the sweetness of Riesling wine, this bundt cake is perfect for celebrations or a cozy dessert with a twist. The buttery glaze adds an irresistible touch of flavor!
Ingredients
For the Cake:
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 (3.4 oz) package powdered vanilla pudding mix
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 5 large eggs, at room temperature
- ½ cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup sweet white wine (such as Riesling)
For the Glaze:
- ½ cup salted butter
- ¼ cup sweet white wine
- 1 cup granulated sugar
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a bundt pan thoroughly with nonstick baking spray or butter, and set it aside.
2. Prepare the Batter
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, pudding mix, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, sour cream, and wine.
- Mix using an electric mixer on medium speed until well combined and smooth.
3. Bake the Cake
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared bundt pan.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the edges of the cake pull away from the pan.
4. Make the Glaze
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the wine and sugar. Heat the mixture, stirring frequently, until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat.
5. Add the Glaze to the Cake
- While the cake is still warm and in the pan, use a skewer or toothpick to poke small holes all over the bottom of the cake.
- Slowly pour the glaze over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. Let the cake sit for 15–20 minutes to absorb the glaze.
6. Remove the Cake and Serve
- Once the glaze is absorbed, gently loosen the edges of the cake with a spatula.
- Invert the bundt pan onto a serving plate and carefully remove the cake.
- Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Tips for Success

- Even Coating: Grease the bundt pan thoroughly to ensure the cake releases easily.
- Extra Moisture: If desired, reserve a small amount of glaze to drizzle over the top after unmolding the cake.
