1 pound of ground beef, crumbled.
1 onion cut into small pieces
3 to 4 pounds of potatoes, peeled and cut into slices.
8 ounces or more of shredded Cheddar Cheese.
1 packet of Cheddar Cheese soup mix
12 ounces of evaporated milk or regular whole milk
1/2 cup of milk
1 teaspoon of salt
Half a teaspoon of pepper
How to Create
Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
Use a non-stick cooking spray to coat a baking dish that measures 9 by 13 inches.
In a big frying pan, put the onion and ground beef and cook until the meat is ready.
Cut the potatoes into slices that are about ¼ inch thick.
Put a layer of potatoes at the bottom of the baking dish.
Add a little salt and pepper.
Put around one-third of the meat mixture on top and spread it evenly over the potatoes.
Put 1/3 of the grated cheese on top.
Do this two more times, adding layers each time.
The final layer should consist of the cheese that is left.
Mix together the Cheddar cheese soup mix, milk, and evaporated milk in a bowl. Add salt and pepper if you like.
Pour the soup mixture on top of the potatoes and beef.
Put aluminum foil tightly over the baking pan and place it in the oven.
Cook in the oven for 60 minutes.
Take off the cover and bake for 15 more minutes to make the cheese on top turn golden.
If the potatoes are bigger, you will have to cook the dish for a longer time.
Have fun
