How to remove dust mites and bed bugs from your mattress naturally

Dust mites are tiny creatures that thrive in humid, warm environments. Mattresses, pillows, and carpets provide an ideal habitat for these pests because they feed on dead skin cells produced by people and other animals. The reddish-brown insects known as bedbugs feed on the blood of both humans and animals. In particular, they prefer to hide in cracks and behind cushions, such as on a bed. Anxiety and trouble sleeping are common side effects of bedbug bites, which often create red, itching welts.

How Do They Infiltrate a Bed?
First, Sodium Bicarbonate, or Baking Soda:

Baking soda’s dehydrating and antibacterial properties make it an effective natural cure for dealing with bedbugs and dust mites.

Due of its ability to absorb moisture, baking soda is not recommended for use with dust mites or bedbugs. It may also help eliminate unpleasant smells caused by excrement.

Instructive Steps:

Before you turn the mattress over for two or three hours, sprinkle it with enough baking soda to cover it.
Use a HEPA-filtered vacuum to get rid of all the baking soda and dead mites.
Get the best results by doing it again in a week or two.
2. Essential oils: As a natural insect repellent, certain essential oils may help ward off pests like bedbugs and dust mites.

Peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus, and tea tree oils are some of the best options.

A User’s Guide:

Mix one cup of water with ten to fifteen drops of the essential oil of your choice in a spray bottle.
Be careful not to get the mattress too wet when you softly mist it.
Before you make the bed, make sure the mattress is completely dry.
Third, use steam to clean; the high heat will kill any pests, including bedbugs and dust mites, and even their eggs.

A User’s Guide:

Scrub the whole mattress with a handheld steam cleaner, paying special attention to the folds, corners, and other hard-to-reach areas.
Bedding should not be placed on a wet mattress until it has dried completely.
Hot water (130°F/55°C) and a hot dryer will kill the pests.
Keep the relative humidity below 50% with the help of a dehumidifier.
Pay special attention to the mattresses and their immediate vicinity; for extra protection, use mattress coverings.
4. Keeping Insects At Bay in the Future

The best way to keep bugs out of your mattress and pillows is to get hypoallergenic coverings with zippers.
To keep your mattress, bed frame, and other surrounding surfaces free of dust, skin cells, and pests, vacuum them periodically.
Make it more difficult for bedbugs to hide by clearing the area around your bed.
The Word Is Out! A First of Its Kind, Non-Meltdown Nuclear Reactor, Built by China:

An innovative nuclear reactor that removes the possibility of meltdown has been successfully tested by China, marking a significant improvement in nuclear safety.

The HTR-PM reactor at the Shidao Bay Nuclear Plant employs TRISO fuel, which consists of small uranium particles covered with ceramic and engineered to retain fission products even in the most hostile of environments, in a pebble bed configuration.

The HTR-PM can naturally disperse heat by conduction, radiation, and convection, enabling it to stay stable without electricity, in contrast to typical reactors that depend on water cooling.

The reactor proved in two 2023 full-scale tests that it could safely shut down and disperse heat in the event of a total power outage. In contrast to the devastating levels seen in catastrophes such as Fukushima, when temperatures reached 2800°C, the highest temperatures recorded here were a mere 870°C.

The self-cooling feature of the HTR-PM makes it immune to the catastrophic failures that have eroded public faith in nuclear power in the past.

There is a worldwide movement toward safer and more sustainable nuclear power, and this breakthrough is only one piece of it. With its 200 MW output, the reactor is seen as a potential green energy source. If it is successful, it might lead to more sophisticated reactor designs being used, which would be great for nuclear power as we move towards a more sustainable future.
